- Squeeze out a fair amount of each color on your paint palette. Mix the colors Champagne, Crimson, and a little bit of Titanium White together. Starting from the top part of the canvas, use a large brush to paint the sky. Do the same at the bottom of the canvas.
- Using the same brush, mix together Crimson and a little bit of Titanium White. Mix till well combined. This color will be for the clouds. Anywhere across your top part of your canvas, paint some clouds. Do the same at the bottom of the canvas.
- With a medium size brush, using the color Lemon Yellow mixed with Mid Yellow, paint underneath the area you just painted. Again, repeat this step at the bottom of the canvas.
- Grab a dry medium size brush and brush in criss cross motions. This technique will help blend the colors.
- To paint the mountain, start by creating the border of the mountain using black.
- Using the grab and pull method this will remove the excess paint.
- With a small paintbrush or palette knife, get the paint right on the edge of the knife. Add snow to the mountain by gently placing the brush on the mountain.
- Paint shadows on the mountain by mixing Prussian Blue and a little bit of Titanium White. With no pressure, let the brush caress on the canvas. Repeat this step until the mountain is covered with snow.
- Mix Phthalo Green and Black until well combined.
- Using a fan brush, create trees on both sides of the mountain as shown in the painting above.
- With the same brush, mix Phthalo Green and a little bit of Lemon Yellow together. Once combined, use your same fan brush to paint some highlights on the trees.
- Let the oil painting dry for two days. Woohoo your painting is finished!
